We are excited to announce that Campanale is now officially a Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) Net Zero Home Qualified Builder! This designation marks a significant milestone in Campanale’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy-efficient homebuilding.
“For years, Campanale has partnered with Better Than Code to guarantee the sustainability and energy efficiency of our homes beyond the Ontario Building Code. Now, combined with this additional CHBA certification, our exceptional craftsmanship and designer features, we take the Campanale Advantage to a whole other level in green building innovation.” – Timothy Campanale, Contracts Manager at Campanale and President of CRESNET (Canadian Residential Energy Services Network)
This CHBA program has become an important stepping stone in Canada’s pursuit of a more sustainable future. All the features of both Net Zero and Net Zero Ready Homes work together to significantly minimize each home’s environmental footprint by preserving natural resources and protecting against climate change. Net Zero and Net Zero Ready Homes offer whole-home comfort, excellent indoor air quality, and superior energy performance using proven advanced technologies and construction practices. The result is a superior quality home for our Campanale families.
What is a Net Zero Ready Home?
According to the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, a Net Zero Ready home is one that is meticulously designed and constructed to future-proof it for renewable energy installation, ensuring a seamless transition to full Net Zero status. Every home labelled Net Zero or Net Zero Ready receives an EnerGuide rating from the government, similar to ratings on appliances. This rating provides homeowners with a clear picture of their home’s energy performance.
The EnerGuide rating measures the total amount of energy a home would use in a year for various needs, including space heating and cooling, water heating, ventilation, lights and appliances, and other electrical requirements. This is then offset by the contributions from on-site renewable energy sources. A Net Zero home achieves an EnerGuide rating of 0 gigajoules per year, indicating that the home produces as much energy as it consumes.
What does it mean to be a CHBA Net Zero Qualified Builder?
To obtain these prestigious labels, builders must undergo a rigorous testing and energy audit process conducted by third parties. This thorough assessment ensures that each home meets the strict energy efficiency performance levels required by the CHBA. The labels serve as a homeowner’s assurance that their home meets or exceeds the highest standards of energy efficiency.
At Campanale, we are dedicated to building beautiful and sustainable homes—it’s one of our longstanding core values. Now, as a CHBA Net Zero Home Qualified Builder, we are proud to continue leading the way toward a greener future in homebuilding.
